Difference between PET sleeve and PVC sleeve for e-cap

Source:本站  |  Time:2022-05-14  | Read:1159
PET sleeves and PVC sleeves in the electrolytic capacitor industry refer to the plastic packaging (the plastic outer skin wrapped around the aluminum case of an electrolytic capacitor) with parameters such as capacity, voltage, temperature resistance and brand printed on the aluminum case of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor. The vast majority of sleeves commonly found in the market are sleeves made of PVC material (polyvinyl chloride) and PET material (ethylene terephthalate). The difference between PVC sleeves and PET sleeves is not obvious from the appearance.

PVC Sleeving
PVC heat-shrinkable sleeving has the performance of shrinking when heated above 98°C. PVC sleeving is divided into two series of 85°C and 105°C by temperature resistance, with common specifications ranging from Φ2 to Φ200. PVC sleeving is used for electrolytic capacitors, inductors and other electronic components, with good performance of high temperature resistance and no secondary shrinkage.

PET Sleeving
PET heat-shrinkable sleeving (polyester heat-shrinkable tube) greatly exceeds PVC heat-shrinkable sleeving in terms of heat resistance, electrical insulation performance, and mechanical performance, and more importantly, PET heat-shrinkable sleeving is non-toxic, easy to recycle, and does not have toxic effects on human body and environment. PET sleeves do not contain cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBBEs/PBDEs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polychlorinated terphenyls (PCTs), polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs), etc., which are banned substances in environmental management. Electronic components such as electrolytic capacitors, inductors, high-grade rechargeable batteries, toys and medical devices are covered.
